You can make a donation here by clicking the donate button towards the top of the page (right side) -or- if you prefer to mail a check, make it out to Grateful Paws Dog & Cat Rescue and earmark it for Murphy. We will continue to raise funds so we can pay for his medical bills in full and so that we can continue to help other pets in our care, or those we encounter who just need a little helping hand. To all of you who have donated to our fundraising efforts to save Murphy- WE THANK YOU! Even with your generosity, we have not quite reached our $5500 fundraising goal that we set to pay for Murphy's treatment. He fell into a deep sleep for about 20 minutes while the treatment took effect and slept soundly- with much less snoring! Murphy has been eating a healthy diet of mostly protein and healthy fats and organic vegetables provided by his foster mom, and will probably continue to eat that way- he loves it- and though he's definitely a messy eater, due to his short snout- he does a darn good job finding all the scraps that fall out of his bowl (just can't reach the ones that stick to his nose!) Grateful Paws volunteer and Acupuncturist, Brigitte Lichy de Lichy, visited last night to give Murphy an acupuncture treatment at home after his appointment. It costs the shelter money to get the dog vetted and. According to his vets, no lingering side effects are expected as a result of his treatment, and Murphy can expect a good quality of life for a few more years. Most shelters and rescue organizations will NOT let you adopt for free. Absolutely no side effects so far, and a total of 3 treatments are expected to render the tumor tissue in his neck dead or dormant. He's enjoying walks, has great energy and his usual big appetite. Murphy had his second treatment today, and he's feeling great. We didn’t quite meet our goal so we are asking again. ![]() ![]() A week or so ago, we posted a plea on Facebook in an effort to raise enough funds to cover Murphy’s vet bill.
